This is a very rare opportunity to buy an almost perfect Universal Genève Silver Shadow powered by the world's thinnest automatic movement of the time, the UG 2-66 micro-rotor measuring only 2.5mm thick!
The watch itself not only has this legendary movement but was designed by who's considered as the best watch designer of the 20th century: Gérald Genta. He was the father of some of the best wrist watches of our time including the UG Polerouter, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak or the Patek Philippe Nautilus, among others.
This particular one has a polish finish case, grey sunburst dial, black baton hands and applied index. This combination is extremely classy and goes with everything.
There is no second hand as it was a specificity of this ultra thin caliber. Removing the second hand allowed to achieve this impressing thickness of only 2.5mm.
The case and dial are in beautifull condition. The caseback only has a very few light scratches.
The movement UG 2-66, 25 jewels with micro rotor, is in excellent condition, without any oxydation and performs currently with about +30s / day (can easily be regulated).
The leather strap is new and not UG.
The case measures 35mm, 38mm lug to lug, 7mm thick with a 18mm lug width.
The watch is located in, and shipped from, Geneva, Switzerland. Shipping is done through priority mail (Swiss Post) with tracking number. Importation fees are the buyer's responsibility.
The water resistance is not tested. I advice not to wear a vintage watch around water even if it was originally waterproof. I describe the watch as it is now. I can't provide any guarantee about the future as it is an old mechanical instrument and I don't know its service history.
